Lobbying efforts from members of the JVHS Alumni Association resulted in the complete restoration of the deteriorated cupola (ornamental tower) on the main building, built in 1936.  This $50,000 capital project marked the first major project since the reestablishment of the JVHS Alumni Association in 2008.

After completion of restoration efforts, a special donation allowed for lighting to be installed around the structure to illuminate it at night.  In April 2010, a special ceremony was held to mark this achievement.  Members of the school board, other city officials, the Bob Bar Community Band, and the JVHS community gathered together in front of the school for the initial lighting.

Thank you to all involved in the restoration/lighting of this special structure, which is one of the most recognizable parts of the historical school.
