Discussion of an Athletic Hall of Fame has echoed within the walls of Jordan for years. The Jordan faithful have sought a way to praise athletes who brought honor to Jordan either as a Red Jacket or after their high school years. Through the efforts of the JVHS Alumni Association and the JVHS Athletic Hall of Fame, this dream became a reality in August of 2010 with the first annual JVHS Athletic Hall of Fame Weekend. This foundational celebration consisted of three events; The 2nd Annual Anthony Dimitri Classic Golf Tournament, which was held at Bull Creek Golf Course on Friday August 6th 2010; the Hall of Fame BBQ, catered by Mike & Ed’s BBQ in the Jordan Cafeteria; and The Inaugural JVHS Hall of Fame Induction.
The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony was held Saturday, August 7th, 2010 at the St. Luke United Methodist Church Activity Center in downtown Columbus Georgia. Hundreds filled the banquet hall in support of their loved ones who were being inducted, or in support of their beloved alma mater. Many memories and stories were shared with the attendees, bringing many smiles and even tears to some eyes. The JVHS Hall of Fame was proud to induct the following into its inaugural class:
